Job summary

CVQuest is seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor in Pietermaritzburg to lead audit engagements from planning to finalisation. The role emphasises ownership of engagements, client liaison and delivering quality work within deadlines and budgets.

The ideal candidate will have SAICA articles, a BCom/ BCompt, and 3–5 years of relevant audit experience with supervisory exposure, along with strong Excel/Word skills and excellent report writing.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or BCompt or relevant Accounting/Auditing qualification.
• CTA or ITC would be advantageous.
• SAICA articles completed or in progress.
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute audit engagements in accordance with applicable auditing standards and methodology.
• Supervise and manage audit teams and allocate work effectively.
• Review audit working papers for accuracy, completeness and quality.
• Identify audit risks and develop appropriate audit procedures.
• Monitor audit progress against budgets and deadlines.
• Liaise with clients and maintain professional working relationships.
• Resolve audit queries and communicate findings to management.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior and trainee auditors.
• Monitor the performance and development of audit team members.
• Ensure audit files are properly documented, reviewed and finalised.
• Participate in audit planning, opening meetings, closing meetings and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant professional standards, legislation and company methodology.
