Placements24 in Welkom is seeking a diligent Audit Clerk to support the internal audit department. You will assist in examining financial records, operational processes and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance, working closely with senior auditors in a hybrid office setting.

The role offers training, exposure to various audit areas and flexibility with some remote work, ideal for someone with 1–2 years in accounting or auditing and strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Auditing.
• 1–2 years of experience in an audit or accounting environment.
• Basic understanding of internal controls and auditing principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting financial and operational audits under the guidance of senior auditors.
• Review and document internal control procedures and identify potential weaknesses.
• Perform testing of transactions and balances to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare audit working papers and summarize findings.
• Communicate with auditees to gather information and clarify issues.
• Support the preparation of audit reports and follow-up on agreed-upon recommendations.
