Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• CAD experience with leading design tools (AutoCAD, Prostructures, Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Strong fundamentals in engineering and good collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform detail design according to NOV guidelines under guidance of senior engineers.
• Develop drawings for production under supervision.

NOV South Africa is seeking a motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). In this role, you will work with our team supporting mechanical design and technical documentation for various equipment across new and existing markets. We have a culture characterised by knowledge sharing, collaboration and a positive working environment. The Mechanical Engineering Team consists of Mechanical Designers, Mechanical Responsibles and senior Mechanical Engineering personnel. The department is a centre of competency for 2D and 3D mechanical design, focused on delivering on time, to the required quality and within budget.

• Support the mechanical design and technical documentation of equipment for new and existing markets.
• Develop practical experience in 2D and 3D mechanical design.
• Contribute to projects that are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Participate in a culture of knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous learning.
• Assist in maintaining and strengthening the department as a centre of competency for mechanical design.
• Build technical knowledge and engineering capability through exposure to various equipment and engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform detail design according to NOV guidelines under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Develop drawings for production under the guidance of Senior Engineers & Designers.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines such as electrical, hydraulic, calculation, controls and technical safety.
• Participate in the preparation of general project documentation under the guidance of Senior Engineers
• Participate in technical clarifications towards workshop/subcontractor/site under the guidance of Senior personnel.
• Keep up to date with regulations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of Engineering fundamentals
• 0-2 years experience in Mechanical Engineering Design
• Experience in CAD systems (AutoCAD, Prostructures, Inventor, SolidWorks)
