Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking an assistant technician in Welkom to support day-to-day duties, install and fault-find alarms, electric fences and CCTV systems. The role requires attention to detail, good housekeeping, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Applicants should reside in Welkom or surrounding areas, have a Code 8 license advantageous, strong communication skills, and be willing to travel and work long hours including standby shifts.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Bilingual (English and any other South African language).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must reside in Welkom or surrounding area.
• Own transport.
• No criminal record.
• Willing to work long hours / overtime and willing to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Assist Technician with day-to-day duties
• Installation and fault finding of new alarms, electric fences and CCTV
• Repairing of cables, focusing, cleaning and re - adjusting of cameras
• Attending meetings when required to
• Assist with good housekeeping practices
• Attention to detail on all aspects of relevant responsibilities
• Adhering to the Agreement between the client and the company
• Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations
• Management and Control of Documentation, Including Registers, Overtime and Route Sheets
• Available to be on standby if and when required and to work long hours if required
• Ensure adherence to Company policy & procedures
• Drivers license Code 8 advantageous
• Relevant experience in similar position and technical background advantageous
• Willing to travel extensively
