Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (Roads) to join our client's team in Durban, South Africa. The role focuses on supervising road construction projects and ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and specifications.

The ideal candidate will hold a Civil Engineering degree (BEng/BSc/BTech) and have 3–5 years' experience with SA road design standards. You will work closely with contractors and stakeholders, review drawings, and prepare on-site documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/BSc/BTech) required.
• 3–5 years of experience in road construction projects.
• Registered Professional (Pr Eng or Pr Technologist) preferred or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing road construction projects
• Ensure that project activities adhere to timelines, budgets, and specifications
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
• Collaborate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate communication and address project-related issues
• Review construction drawings, designs, and quality control plans to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications
• Prepare daily reports and documentation related to project progress and compliance
• Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and technicians on site

• Must be Professionally Registered (Pr Eng or Pr Technologist)
