Job summary

Maziv is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (FTTH) in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town to plan, execute and evaluate projects to predefined timelines and standards. You will report to the Project Manager and stakeholders, ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key duties include weekly planning and tracking, supervising teams, managing risks, budgeting support, resource allocation and documentation. Emphasis on safety, PPE and adherence to civil/technical specifications.

Job description

Responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines and standards. Managing and reporting on project resources, reporting to the project Stakeholders and Management. Ensuring quality control is executed to standards throughout project life cycles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, schedule, track and report weekly on project.
• Supervise project team members and contractors.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and contractors.
• Identify and manage project dependencies, changes and risks.
• Support with planning and facilitating effective projects meetings with project team and stakeholders,
• Effectively support with allocation of available resource, material and costing information.
• Support with budgeting (actual vs forecast).
• Align on the correct tools and best practices for project management.
• Ensure that projects are completed within the required specifications and standards (civil and technical)
• Conduct a pre-Civil Acceptance (CAC) and Hand Over Certificate (HOC) inspection.
• Schedule Civil Acceptance Certificate inspection with projects stakeholders.
• Ensuring that all projects’ documentation and reports are completed and correct.
• Prepare S-build documentation as per standards
• Support with effective stock management ensuring warehouse is stocked and relevant documentation is in order.
• Ensure that agreements with stakeholders and financial projects are kept confidential
• Ensure that technical teams have all necessary PPE and tools to perform their duties.
• Conduct daily risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Support any incident investigation and reporting if required.
• Support with splicing and other diagrams if required, and planning amendments.
