Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an energetic, hands-on Assistant Manager for a luxury lodge in KwaZulu-Natal. You will join a small team and take initiative to ensure smooth day-to-day lodge operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in a similar role, strong interpersonal and staff management skills, and the ability to handle guest issues calmly. Salary: R13,000 | Live-in | Negotiable depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s previous experience in a similar role.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Valid First Aid Level 1 preferred.
• Previous luxury lodge or hospitality experience advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Confident and respectful approach to staff management.
• Ability to handle camp issues independently and use initiative.
• Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
• Friendly and approachable demeanour.
• Ability to work effectively within a small, close-knit team.
• Professional ability to separate work and personal relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the lodge.
• Handle guest and camp-related issues confidently and professionally.
• Work independently and make sound decisions when required.
• Support and manage staff in a respectful and professional manner.
• Assist with maintaining high guest service standards.
• Take a hands-on approach to lodge operations and assist wherever needed.
• Support the Lodge Manager with daily operational requirements.
• Maintain a positive and professional team environment.
