ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT (Reporting)
Reporting into the Reporting Accountant, you will support the financial reporting function through the preparation of monthly reports, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, audit support and statutory compliance. The successful candidate should hold a Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field, have 35 years experience in a finance or accounting environment, have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, SAGE X3 and have experience working on an ERP system, with Finnivo experience highly advantageous.

Minimum Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the financial accounting function
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Perform reconciliations, journals and general ledger reviews
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyse financial information and investigate variances
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
- Assist with audit processes and statutory requirements
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure accuracy of financial information
- Provide financial insights and support to management
- Supervise and support junior accounting staff where required

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, overseeing bookkeeping activities, administering payroll and preparing timely management accounts.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in a similar financial accounting role, strong Excel skills and practical experience with Pastel and Xero. A relevant degree with Financial Accounting as a major, combined with strong analytical and communication skills, is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform regular and accurate financial reconciliations.
- Oversee and administer the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Supervise the Bookkeeper and ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately and timeously.
- Review bookkeeping activities and maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting financial reports.
- Assist with the analysis and interpretation of financial information.
- Complete ad hoc financial processing and accounting duties as required.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and available within required deadlines.
- Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving financial and accounting‑related queries.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls and accounting procedures.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum5 years experience in a similar Financial Accountant role.
- Degree withFinancial Accounting as a major.
- Proficient inPastel and Xero.
