SA Metal Group is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager in Cape Town to oversee daily operations across branches. You will ensure processes, maintain customer relations, and supervise staff to meet performance targets within safety and regulatory frameworks.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to policies, and accurate record-keeping, with a focus on maintaining high standards of service to suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all operational processes and procedures are strictly followed
• Maintain good customer relations and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Ensuring that the scrap metal is purchased at the correct grade
• Ensuring records are updated and reconciled accurately for all items purchased and dispatched
• Ensuring Company policies and procedures, and health & safety regulations are adhered to
• Lead and supervise a team in order to achieve operational requirements
• Motivating staff on a continuous basis
• Ensuring that assistants thoroughly inspect scrap to be purchased
• Ensuring that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying scrap by accurately recording all information required under the Act
• Following clear and reasonable instructions from managers
