Job summary

Sasol is seeking a maintenance technician to operate basic mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment at the Secunda site in Mpumalanga. The role requires following detailed instructions to meet performance targets and adhering to safety management systems.

Applicants should have a Matric/N3 with Maths, English and Physical Science and a mechanical trade qualification. Experience in plant maintenance and risk assessments is advantageous. Drivers license is required.

Qualifications

• Matric/N3 with Maths, English and Physical Science is required.
• Trade qualification/certificate in mechanical discipline.
• Experience with plant maintenance documentation and risk assessments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic mechanical/electro-mechanical equipment and perform routine tasks following detailed instructions.
• Read, interpret and implement task risk assessments and plant maintenance documents.
• Contribute to plant safety by adhering to safety management systems and emergency procedures.
• Lead by example and mentor junior artisans where appropriate.
• Participate in root cause analyses and RCA teams for continuous improvement.
• Provide feedback on work progress to supervisors and planning officers.
