Job summary

The Royal Portfolio in Cape Town is seeking vigilant Security Officers to provide a visible, discreet 24-hour security presence for executives across offices and residential estates. You will monitor the control room, conduct patrols, respond to alarm activations and incidents, and assist with after-hours executive transport.

The role requires professionalism, 24/7 availability, and strong communication with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade C registration with firearm competency.
• Experience as armed private security officer in a private residential estate or corporate office environment.
• Experience working rotating shift patterns as part of 24-hour coverage.
• Competent operating CCTV, alarm and access control systems.
• Valid driver's license with safe night-driving ability.
• Skilled in basic incident reporting and documentation.
• Physically able to conduct foot patrols in all weather conditions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Remains alert, calm and professional at all times, especially during incidents.
• Communicates clearly and respectfully with residents, staff and visitors.
• Acts with honesty and discretion given the sensitive nature of estate security.
• Takes ownership of shift responsibilities and follows through without close supervision.
• Physically fit, neat in appearance and presentable at all times.

Responsibilities

• Monitor control room with continuous vigilance and log CCTV/alarm activity within 5 minutes.
• Carry out patrols and document findings, faults, risks, or suspicious activity per shift.
• Respond to alarm activations and coordinate with armed response within tight timelines.
• Prepare and submit incident reports within 24 hours of activations.
• Provide after-hours transport for executives as required.
• Maintain professional communication with residents, staff and management.
• Ensure security for offices and residential estates for The Royal Portfolio.
