Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Architectural Technician in Klerksdorp, North West. You will produce high‑quality construction drawings, 3D models and documentation translating design into buildable solutions, ensuring compliance with SA codes and standards.

You will support architects from concept to completion, coordinating with engineers and consultants while maintaining meticulous records and project archives.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in architectural technology required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Architectural Technician or Drafter.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D); Revit or ArchiCAD is advantageous.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic architectural practice based in Klerksdorp , North West , is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Architectural Technician. This role is integral to supporting the architects in developing and detailing construction projects. You will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings, 3D models, and documentation that translate design concepts into buildable solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proficiency in CAD software, and a thorough understanding of building construction and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, sections, and elevations using CAD software.


• Develop and maintain 3D models for design visualization and coordination purposes.


• Assist architects in the preparation of design development and construction documentation.


• Produce specification documents and schedules for building materials and components.


• Conduct site visits to gather information and verify existing conditions.


• Coordinate with engineers and consultants to ensure the integration of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.


• Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with South African National Building Regulations and relevant standards.

Requirements

• A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.


• A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Architectural Technician or Drafter.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) is essential. Experience with Revit or ArchiCAD is a strong advantage.


• Solid understanding of South African building codes, construction methods, and materials.


• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.


• Good communication and teamwork skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.


• Experience in preparing tender documentation is beneficial.


• Eligibility for registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) as a professional or candidate technician.
