About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Architectural Historian / Researcher to join their team in Kimberley . This role is dedicated to researching, documenting, and analyzing buildings and built environments, with a focus on historical significance and cultural heritage. You will conduct archival research, site analysis, and prepare detailed reports that inform conservation efforts, heritage assessments, and adaptive reuse projects. This position is crucial for understanding and preserving the architectural legacy of the Northern Cape and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive historical research on architectural works, sites, and urban contexts.


• Prepare detailed heritage statements, historical assessments, and conservation management plans.


• Document existing buildings through measured surveys, photography, and archival research.


• Analyze architectural styles, materials, and construction techniques throughout different historical periods.


• Liaise with heritage organizations, local authorities, and clients regarding historical significance and preservation strategies in Kimberley.

Requirements
