About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of HVAC solutions in the Upington region, Northern Cape, is seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Apprentice Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician. Key Responsibilities

Assist senior technicians in the installation of new refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Perform routine maintenance and servicing on various HVAC equipment. Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot faults in refrigeration and A/C systems. Conduct repairs on components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems. Handle refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Ensure all installations and repairs are performed to code and manufacturer specifications. Maintain a clean and organized worksite and company vehicle. Accurately record service details, parts used, and time spent on job reports. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated with industry advancements.

Requirements

Grade 12 certificate with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science. A strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems, particularly HVAC. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work safely and follow precise instructions. Physically fit and capable of working in various environmental conditions, including potentially confined spaces. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be able to work within the Upington , Northern Cape area, including some site visits. A valid driver's license is highly preferred.
