Qualifications

• Completed Grade 12 with a good understanding of Mathematics and Physical Science.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in HVAC trade.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Physical fitness for attics, crawl spaces, outdoors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified HVAC technicians in the installation of HVAC systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and service on existing HVAC equipment.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot common HVAC system problems.
• Assist in the repair of air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
• Understand and follow electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration principles related to HVAC.
• Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in a clean and orderly manner.
• Adhere to all safety policies and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Provide basic customer service and explain work performed.
