West Coast Personnel is offering an entry-level apprenticeship for aspiring technicians in Gauteng/Sandton. The role involves supporting technicians during visits to homes, businesses and job sites, and assisting with inspection, installation and servicing of equipment under supervision.

You will learn to identify faults, operate testing equipment, follow manuals and safety guidelines, and participate in training activities to develop practical skills for a career in technical service.

Mansioni

• Assist Technicians with travelling to customer locations, homes, businesses and job sites.
• Assist with inspection, servicing, installation and repair of equipment under direction of a Technician.
• Prepare and organise tools, equipment, parts and materials for service calls and installations.
• Assist Technicians with basic troubleshooting and testing of equipment under supervision.
• Learn to identify common equipment faults and understand correct resolution procedures.
• Assist with routine preventative maintenance and general servicing of equipment.
• Assist with installation of new equipment under supervision of a Technician.
• Assist with removal, replacement and installation of faulty parts or components as instructed.
• Learn to use tools, testing and diagnostic equipment and relevant software.
• Follow manuals, schematics and manufacturer guidelines as directed by the Technician.
• Assist with testing equipment after servicing to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Assist with loading, unloading, handling and transportation of equipment, tools and parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area at customer sites, vehicles and workshop.
• Assist Technicians in preparing for customer service calls and ensure required tools, parts and equipment are available.
• Observe and learn from experienced Technicians to develop practical knowledge and skills.
• Communicate professionally with customers and assist Technicians in responding to queries.
• Follow company policies, health and safety requirements and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct when representing the company.
• Assist with completing service documentation and records as instructed.
• Report faults, safety concerns and damaged tools to the Technician or Service Manager.
• Complete required training and assessments associated with the apprenticeship.
• Perform any other duties related to the Apprenticeship training and development as instructed by management.
