Job summary

Klipboard in Stellenbosch is seeking a hands-on AI engineer to ship AI features inside established C# .NET products. You’ll design prompts, manage context, integrate models, and build evaluations in real codebases that matter to our distributors and retailers.

You’ll work with product teams, stay current with AI tooling, and ensure production-grade quality with attention to latency, cost, and safety. This role blends fast iteration with solid engineering discipline in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Solid production experience with C# .NET, including working in established codebases you did not write.
• Hands-on experience building with large language models: prompt design, context engineering and structured outputs.
• A track record of shipping quickly from idea to working software.
• Experience testing or evaluating LLM outputs and using results to improve quality.
• Daily fluency with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI features end-to-end: from requirement understanding through to shipped, evaluated product capability.
• Maintain production-grade quality: error handling, fallbacks, latency management, logging and monitoring.
• Share knowledge and collaborate with engineers, product managers and SMEs.
