Smart4Energy, in partnership with a global renewable energy and energy storage leader, is expanding its engineering team in South Africa. We seek an experienced Application Engineer passionate about battery energy storage systems and renewable solutions to design and deploy cutting-edge projects across Africa.

Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience on utility-scale Solar PV, BESS or hybrid projects.
- Solid understanding of battery technologies and grid-connected energy infrastructure.
- Experience with energy modelling and simulation software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical solutions for utility-scale BESS and hybrid Solar PV + BESS projects.
- Perform battery sizing, system modelling and performance analysis.
- Prepare tenders, technical proposals and project documentation.
- Engage with customers and cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support grid integration studies and technical due diligence.
- Analyze project performance and commercial considerations.
