Job summary

SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company. The Chemist will analyze samples in accordance with Test Method Instructions, assist the Section Manager with compliance, and ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed.

Responsibilities include ensuring data traceability in LIMS, generating reports, calibrating equipment, and maintaining quality standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or N Diploma in Chemistry is required.
• On-the-job and formal training provided for laboratory work.
• Strong knowledge of multiple analytical processes and LIMS is essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples accurately using approved methods and procedures.
• Ensure technical accuracy and record data and results.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments as needed.
• Prepare and report results within specified time frames.
• Support training of new staff on methods and procedures.
• Oversee housekeeping and safety in the lab.
