Qualifications

This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding Abbott's molecular diagnostics business, and strengthening strategic customer relationships across the Western Cape and designated neighboring markets. As Abbott's primary commercial representative, you will play a key role in delivering customer success, managing distributor partnerships, and accelerating sustainable business growth. ## What You'll Work On* Drive territory revenue growth and achieve sales, profitability, and market share objectives.* Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across public and private healthcare sectors.* Develop and execute territory business plans to support sustainable growth.* Build and maintain strong relationships with laboratories, clinicians, procurement teams, and key decision makers.* Act as a trusted advisor to customers through strategic account management and business reviews.* Manage distributor partnerships, joint business plans, and performance reviews across designated markets.* Support tender opportunities, contract negotiations, renewals, and commercial agreements.* Deliver customer onboarding, product education, and first-line commercial and technical support.* Drive menu expansion, reagent utilization, and customer retention initiatives.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Applications, Service, Finance, and Logistics to ensure seamless customer support and project execution. ## Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in biomedical science, Medical Technology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.* Minimum 5 years' experience in diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, medical devices, laboratory medicine, or a related healthcare field.* **At least 1–2 years' proven track record of achieving commercial and sales targets.*** Experience managing distributors and channel partners.* Strong understanding of public and private healthcare markets.* Proven ability to build and manage strategic customer relationships.* Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.* Strong solution-selling and business development capabilities.* Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics.* Commercial or business qualification will be advantageous.* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the Western Cape and neighboring countries.
