Placements24 in Durban is seeking an Aviation Safety Inspector specializing in Airworthiness. You will ensure South Africa's aircraft meet airworthiness standards through audits, investigations, and regulatory compliance work, with strong analytical and reporting skills.

The role requires a relevant engineering degree and at least 5 years' experience in aircraft design, manufacturing, maintenance, or regulatory oversight, with some travel within KwaZulu-Natal and internationally.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft design, manufacturing, maintenance, or regulatory oversight.
• Extensive knowledge of SACAA regulations and international aviation standards (EASA, FAA).
• Experience with aircraft type certification and continued airworthiness processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a complex workload, including travel.
• Proficiency in using relevant software for data analysis and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Conduct regulatory compliance inspections and audits of aircraft operators, maintenance organizations, and manufacturers.
• Verify maintenance against approved programs and regulations.
• Investigate incidents related to airworthiness and recommend corrective actions.
• Review maintenance release docs and modifications to type certificates.
• Monitor regulatory changes and prepare inspection reports with findings.
• Advise stakeholders on airworthiness requirements and best practices.
• Deliver training on airworthiness standards.
• Travel within KwaZulu-Natal and potentially internationally.
• Stay current with SACAA and international standards (EASA, FAA).
