Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Propeller Technician in East London to maintain and overhaul propellers and related systems. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, balancing, and testing to ensure safe, reliable aviation operation.

You will work with precise tools in a hangar environment, following maintenance schedules and safety regulations, and documenting repairs and inspections accurately for compliance and traceability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Propeller Technician or similar role.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency with specialized propeller servicing tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of aviation safety regulations related to propellers.
• Ability to work in a hangar environment in East London.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and maintenance on aircraft propellers.
• Diagnose and repair propeller issues including pitch control and de-icing systems.
• Disassemble, overhaul, reassemble blades, hubs, and control mechanisms.
• Balance propellers statically and dynamically.
• Test repaired units to ensure performance and safety.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records for all propeller work.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established aviation maintenance organization located in East London , is seeking a skilled Aircraft Propeller Technician . This role involves the inspection, repair, overhaul, and testing of aircraft propellers and associated systems. You will work with precision equipment and adhere to strict maintenance schedules and safety regulations to ensure the optimal performance and safety of aircraft propellers. This is a specialized role for a technician with a keen eye for detail and a passion for aviation mechanics in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on aircraft propellers. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to propeller function, pitch control, and de-icing systems. Execute repairs and overhauls on propeller blades, hubs, and control mechanisms. Conduct static and dynamic balancing of propellers. Test repaired propellers to ensure they meet performance and safety specifications. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for all propeller work.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Propeller Technician or in a related propeller maintenance role. Strong knowledge of propeller systems, including various types and their operation. Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance procedures. Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for propeller servicing. Understanding of aviation safety regulations pertaining to propellers. Must be able to work in a hangar environment in East London .
