Job summary

Placements24 seeks a qualified Aircraft Mechanic to join our client’s maintenance team in Port Elizabeth. You will service airframes and powerplant systems, perform inspections, and complete repairs on a fleet of light aircraft to maintain airworthiness.

The role requires a trade qualification, experience with general aviation piston and turboprop engines, and the ability to follow manuals and safety procedures on site. Security clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as an Aircraft Mechanic (e.g., NQF Level 4 or equivalent).
• Experience with general aviation aircraft, including piston and turboprop engines.
• Familiarity with aircraft maintenance manuals, technical orders, and schematic diagrams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to obtain necessary security clearances for working in the aviation sector in Port Elizabeth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled maintenance, servicing, and inspections on airframes and powerplants.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical discrepancies and ensure compliance with manuals and airworthiness directives.
• Perform component replacements, adjustments, and system checks as required.
