Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Aircraft Performance Engineer to join the Nelspruit operations. You will analyze performance data, build models, and support flight planning to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce costs.

The role requires a strong background in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and experience with performance analysis tools. Collaboration with flight operations and engineering teams is essential for driving improvements in aviation performance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in aircraft performance engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of aerodynamics, thermodynamics and flight mechanics.
• Proficiency in performance analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, specialized aviation software).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze aircraft performance data to identify trends and improvements in fuel efficiency and costs.
• Develop and validate performance models for various aircraft types.
• Assist in creating and refining aircraft flight manuals and performance handbooks.
• Provide technical support for flight planning systems and operations decisions.
• Conduct studies on weight and balance, takeoff/landing performance, climb/cruise performance.
• Stay updated on advances in aircraft performance tech and regulatory requirements.
