About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of aviation maintenance services, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join their team at the Benoni, Gauteng facility. In this essential role, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of aircraft to ensure their continued airworthiness and operational readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a thorough understanding of aircraft systems, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety and quality standards. This is a hands-on position that requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. This role requires full on-site presence to perform direct maintenance tasks on aircraft at our Benoni hangar.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the appropriate course of action for repair.
• Service and repair aircraft engines, airframes, and associated components.
• Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and maintenance instructions.
• Carry out routine checks and preventative maintenance tasks as per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance performed.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and aviation standards.
• Assist senior mechanics and technicians when required.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Respond promptly to operational needs and aircraft availability requirements.

Requirements

• Trade qualification or equivalent certification as an Aircraft Mechanic or Aircraft Technician.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Solid understanding of aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, propulsion).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of aviation safety regulations and best practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
