Placements24 is seeking an innovative and experienced Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to contribute to advanced design and development projects with a flexible, remote-friendly approach serving Stellenbosch-area operations. You will design, integrate, analyze, and test electrical power distribution, lighting and control systems for new and existing aircraft platforms, ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in aircraft electrical system design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems, distribution networks, and load analysis.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical) and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations (ARP4754, DO-160).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop aircraft electrical system architectures, including power generation, distribution, and load management.
• Perform detailed analysis of electrical systems, including circuit analysis, transient analysis, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and related technical documentation.
• Integrate new electrical components and systems into aircraft designs, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
• Develop and execute test plans for electrical systems, troubleshooting issues and verifying performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including avionics, structures, and systems engineering.
