Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an AI Platform Engineer in Mahikeng to design and maintain cloud-based infrastructure for AI/ML workloads. You will build scalable environments, optimize performance, and ensure security and compliance while supporting data scientists and ML engineers.

The role requires 4+ years in infrastructure/DevOps, strong cloud and container orchestration skills, and a collaborative, hybrid work setup in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Experience supporting AI/ML platforms or workloads is highly desirable.
