Job summary

Jobtailor in Cape Town seeks a senior AI Operations Lead to oversee the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered workflows, applications and agents across environments. You will coordinate deployments, enforce security, and drive reliability in AWS and Azure while aligning with governance and data protection policies.

The role requires hands-on experience with IaC, IAM, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Security, Product and Business teams to keep complex AI

Qualifications

• Experience operationalising AI workflows and agents.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and entitlements.
• Familiar with IaC and deployment controls.
• Experience with IAM and access management.
• Experience managing AI agent lifecycles.
• Ability to coordinate cross-environment deployments.
• Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of security, data protection, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational management of AI-powered workflows, applications and agents.
• Coordinate deployment across development, test and production environments.
• Ensure cloud environments (AWS, Azure) are secure and operational.
• Manage environment configuration, secrets, credentials and dependencies.
• Improve repeatability via infrastructure-as-code and deployment controls.
• Oversee credentials, permissions and access controls.
• Manage AI agent lifecycles, updates and decommissioning.
• Govern integrations between AI tools and enterprise platforms.
• Own incident management and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Track usage, health metrics and compliance with policies.
• Develop and maintain runbooks and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with Technology, Security, Product and Business teams.
• Manage AI platform vendors and coordinate escalations.
• Drive reliability, usability and security improvements.
