Placements24 is seeking an AI Infrastructure Engineer in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role focuses on building, scaling and maintaining cloud-based AI infrastructure to support large-scale data processing and model training.

You will work with data scientists and ML engineers in a hybrid in-office/remote setup to accelerate the AI development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in cloud infrastructure, DevOps or MLOps, with hands-on AWS/Azure/GCP experience, scripting skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or MLOps.
• Hands-on with AWS/Azure/GCP and services.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD knowledge with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• Hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Develop and maintain robust MLOps pipelines for automated model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Implement CI/CD best practices for AI/ML development workflows.
• Manage containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Optimize infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand their infrastructure needs.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for AI infrastructure.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks using scripting and IaC tools.
• Ensure security best practices are applied across the AI infrastructure.
