Job summary

Absa Bank Limited seeks an AI FinOps Lead to establish and scale a new AI FinOps capability across the CDAIO and Absa Technology. You will ensure transparent, attributable monthly cost charging for AI and data consumption and serve as the interface with the Cloud FinOps team.

The role covers governance, observability, and cost controls, with collaboration across engineering, finance and data science teams. Ideal candidates have strong Python, data products, and AWS cost management experience.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Diploma or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data or related technical field.
• Non-technology background is an automatic exclusion.

Responsibilities

• Design and operationalise dashboards for AI Gateway and related services.
• Develop API integrations for real-time visibility of token usage and licensing.
• Enhance tooling, dashboards and data pipelines as new use cases onboard.
• Expand capability from AI FinOps to Data FinOps across CDAIO.
• Build dynamic chargeback/showback models aligned to monthly usage.
