Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics Researcher to join our Kimberley-based team in the Northern Cape. The role focuses on conducting research into ethical challenges of AI, developing frameworks for responsible AI, and advising on policy and best practices.

You will collaborate with experts to publish findings and influence the ethical trajectory of AI development, contributing to a socially responsible AI future in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in ethics, philosophy, law, CS with an AI ethics focus, or related social science discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI ethics and related concepts.
• Strong research skills with ability to conduct independent research and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to articulate complex ethical issues.
• Familiarity with current trends and debates in AI and its societal implications.
