Placements24 is seeking an experienced AI Ethics and Policy Advisor for a contract role based in East London, Eastern Cape. You will guide ethical AI development, craft governance frameworks and stay abreast of evolving regulations, collaborating with legal, technical and business teams.

The role emphasizes actionable advisory support, strong communication, and the ability to translate complex policy into practical guidance across projects and teams.

Formación

• Advanced degree in Ethics, Law, Policy Studies, Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience in AI ethics, technology policy or responsible AI consulting.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML and their ethical dimensions (bias, fairness, transparency).
• Knowledge of current and emerging AI regulations and policy frameworks.
• Excellent research, analytical and advisory skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex ethical and policy issues into actionable advice.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Familiarity with the technology sector and AI development processes is preferred.
