Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Technology Specialist to enhance operations in Sandton, Gauteng. The role focuses on implementing, managing and optimizing modern agricultural technologies, including precision farming tools, IoT devices, drones and data management systems.

You will advise on technology adoption, ensure seamless integration and train staff to leverage these tools effectively in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy with tech focus, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience with agricultural technologies, precision farming, or IoT.
• Proficiency with data analysis software and drone operation (certification desirable).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend and implement new agricultural technologies and digital solutions.
• Manage and maintain precision agriculture equipment, sensors, GPS systems and data platforms.
• Utilize drone technology for crop monitoring, mapping and data collection.
• Analyze data generated by technology solutions to provide actionable insights for farm management.
• Provide training and technical support to farm managers and staff on the use of new technologies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to agricultural hardware and software.
• Stay informed about advancements in AgriTech and identify opportunities for innovation.
