Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager focused on agriculture to supervise farming operations in the Nelspruit region. You will drive crop production, resource optimization, and profitability of the agricultural enterprise.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field, with at least five years' experience in farm operations management, leadership, and practical knowledge of crop management, soil science, and machinery maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Management, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural operations management or farm management.
Experience in crop management, soil science, and pest control techniques.
Knowledge of farm machinery operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Manage daily farm operations including crops, planting, harvesting, and pest control.
Oversee use of resources, machinery, and equipment in Nelspruit.
Develop strategies to maximize crop yields and ensure product quality.
Lead farm workers, provide training, supervision, and performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations, safety standards, and environmental practices.
Monitor costs and implement measures to improve efficiency and profitability.
