Placements24 in Upington is seeking an experienced Agricultural Equipment Operator to support farming operations with heavy machinery including tractors, combines, and sprayers. You will perform plowing, planting, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting with precision and a strong safety mindset.

The role requires proven machinery experience, a valid driver’s license, and competence with GPS-guided equipment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as operator of agricultural machinery.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to operate a variety of farm equipment, including GPS-enabled machinery.
Strong understanding of machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of safe operating practices for heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate tractors, combines, sprayers, and other heavy agricultural machinery safely and efficiently.
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment before and after operation.
Execute tasks such as plowing, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting according to operational plans.
Monitor equipment performance and report any mechanical issues or needed repairs.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Assist with general farm maintenance and other duties as required.
