Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agricultural Engineer in Vereeniging to design, test, and implement advanced farming solutions. You will drive improvements across irrigation, land management, and mechanization projects.

The role requires a solid technical background, hands-on problem solving, and strong collaboration with agronomists and farm managers to advance agricultural technology and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in agricultural engineering or related industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
• Strong understanding of agricultural machinery, hydraulics and farm power systems.
• Experience with irrigation design and water management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Optimize existing farm systems, including irrigation, drainage, and soil conservation structures.
• Develop and implement plans for farm infrastructure development and maintenance.
• Analyze agricultural processes to identify areas for improvement through engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all engineering projects.
• Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
