Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a responsible and energetic Childminder to provide after-school care for children in Welkom, Free State. This part-time role focuses on supervision, safe activities, and homework support until parents return, creating a positive and structured environment.

The ideal candidate will have childcare experience, be reliable and punctual, and able to assist primary school homework. Must have good communication skills, a calm demeanor, and own transport.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare or babysitting is essential.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and have a genuine affinity for children.
• Ability to assist with primary school level homework.
• Good communication skills and a calm demeanor.
• Valid First Aid certification is preferred.
• Own transportation to and from the client’s home.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children aged 6-10 years after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist children with homework and school projects, providing guidance and support.
• Organize and lead age-appropriate recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Prepare light snacks and ensure children adhere to mealtime routines.
• Maintain communication with parents regarding the children’s activities and any notable occurrences.
• Ensure the children’s environment is tidy and safe.
