Job summary

Old Mutual is seeking a customer advisor to deliver consultative product advice to a defined market and to own outcomes through individual effort. You will handle basic inquiries, maintain CRM data, and support business development while following established procedures and compliance standards.

The role focuses on building relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and ensuring accurate customer information.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 5 or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and comply with regulatory codes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out standard customer service activities and handle simple customer inquiries.
• Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine inquiries.
• Receive visitors and refer more complex matters to colleagues.
• Maintain basic customer details in the system and note follow-up actions.
• Interview the customer to clarify requirements using a multilevel sales script.
• Make calls to allocated potential customers to develop relationships and be the first contact for queries.
• Follow mandatory procedures to ensure work quality and regulatory compliance.
• Carry out routine business development support tasks and follow established procedures.
• Identify potential customers by obtaining information and referrals.
• Input data into spreadsheets or standard formats.
• Demonstrate networking to contribute to a network of people, technologies, and ideas.
