Job summary

Isanqa Resourcing invites applications for an Advanced Back-End Developer to join a core Software Engineering squad focused on Intelligent & Bidirectional Charging. You will build serverless Node.js services on AWS, integrating securely via OpenAPI with energy partners.

Role requires 5+ years Node.js serverless production experience and 3+ years of automated testing with IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform). Relocation not required; hybrid work model in SA preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of production experience in Node.js serverless development.
• Minimum of 3+ years of automated testing and hands‑on AWS serverless application development.
• Cloud Certifications (AWS Developer Associate minimum, Professional preferred).
• Experience with OpenAPI integrations and secure external partner integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain event‑driven Node.js microservices on AWS Lambda.
• Operate production‑ready serverless applications with monitoring (CloudWatch) and 24/7 support.
• Automate deployments using CloudFormation/Terraform and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Coach squad peers and collaborate with external energy partners within Agile sprints.

Our Client is seeking an Advanced Back-End Developer to join the core Software Engineering squad within their global IT Hub, supporting the "Intelligent & Bidirectional Charging" product domain.

This product drives smart vehicle charging solutions, wallbox IoT connectivity, and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) / Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) power pool use cases.

In this role, you will develop and operate production-ready serverless Node.js business applications on AWS, ensuring secure and seamless OpenAPI integrations with external energy partners.

• Serverless Node.js Development: 5+ years of production experience with Node.js in serverless environments and 3+ years hands‑on with AWS serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3).
• Automated Testing & IaC: 3+ years of automated testing (unit tests, end‑to‑end testing) alongside Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation (preferred) or Terraform.
• DevOps & Cloud Monitoring: Experience leading IT tasks, configuring GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, and supporting production applications (24/7 support) via AWS CloudWatch.

• Contract Dates: 01-10-2026 to 31-12-2029
• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation
• Level: Advanced (Note: 3+ years AWS serverless & testing vs. 5+ years for Senior track)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant IT Degree or equivalent commercial experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of production experience in Node.js serverless development.
• Minimum of 3+ years of automated testing and hands‑on AWS serverless application development.
• Cloud Certifications (AWS Developer Associate minimum, Professional preferred).

Essential Skills & Technologies:

• Back-End & Serverless: 5+ years Node.js; 3+ years AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3.
• IaC & CI/CD: CloudFormation (preferred), Terraform, and GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows.
• Testing & Quality: 3+ years automated testing (unit and E2E test suites), design patterns, and ISO-standard technical documentation.
• Databases & Networking: SQL and NoSQL databases, virtual networks (VPC, on‑prem connectivity), and CloudWatch log analytics.
• Agile Collaboration: Practical experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery models and leading feature tasks.

Advantageous Skills:

• Domain exposure to E-Mobility, smart charging, and energy ecosystem integrations.
• Linear and nonlinear optimization, algorithm design, and complexity theory.
• Performance testing, tuning, and Java programming knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serverless Development: Develop, test, and maintain event‑driven Node.js microservices and OpenAPIs on AWS Lambda.
• Operational Monitoring: Monitor application health within AWS CloudWatch, apply cloud‑security patterns, and provide 24/7 operational support.
• Automation & IaC: Automate system deployments using CloudFormation/Terraform and maintain continuous integration pipelines.
• Agile Delivery & Coaching: Proactively share knowledge, coach squad peers, and collaborate with external energy partners within Agile sprints.

Applicants based outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate to Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn. Please note that relocation to the province will be at the candidate's own cost.
