Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment seeks an experienced Back-End Developer in Pretoria to build scalable cloud solutions and modern serverless architectures. You will contribute to intelligent, connected mobility and energy management platforms powering smart charging and V2G/V2H ecosystems.

The role requires leading IT teams, 5+ years Node.js in serverless environments, AWS serverless expertise, and strong experience with IaC, CI/CD, and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years production experience with Node.js in serverless environments.
• Experience with AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS).
• CI/CD pipelines experience, GitHub Actions preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases in cloud architectures.
• Cloud certifications (Developer Associate minimum).
• Flexible working of 1960 hours in a 12-month period.

We're looking for an experienced Back-End Developer who loves building scalable cloud solutions, solving complex technical problems and working with modern serverless architecture.

You'll be joining a global technology environment where your code will help power smart charging, vehicle-to-home (V2H), vehicle-to-grid (V2G), energy optimisation and connected charging ecosystems.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Experienced in leading IT Teams.
• 5+ years production experience with Node.js in serverless environments.
• 3+ years automated testing experience (unit tests, end-to-end tests).
• 3+ years hands-on AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub actions preferred).
• Experience with Databases both SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with cloud technologies (Amazon AWS is strongly preferred).
• Compute: Kubernetes and Serverless.
• Virtual networks, including communication with on-premise networks.
• Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (design, configuration and operation).
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Automated deployment and configuration of components and systems.
• Monitoring and log analytics.
• Experience with Databases both Sql and NoSql.
• Experience with Design / Architecture Patterns.
• Experience in AGILE or SCRUM.
