Job summary

Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (SA) Ltd invites applications for a role focusing on new business tenders within its group risk product range. The successful candidate will analyse member and claims data, leverage Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite to ensure accurate and efficient delivery, and responsibly explore AI tools for research, summarisation and automation.

The role requires strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• Matric with mathematics.
• Insurance industry experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with pricing in a Group Risk environment would be advantageous.
• Business/commerce qualification would be advantageous.
• Proven numerical ability/mathematical reasoning skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, advanced Excel, and MS 365.

Responsibilities

• Interpret requests and deliver on production standards.
• Analyse member and claims data.
• Use Excel and Microsoft 365 to support accurate delivery.
• Use AI tools to research, summarise information and automate repetitive tasks.
• Process new business quotations/tenders within SLA and validate inputs with pricing tools.

You will be responsible for new business tenders on our extensive group risk product range to potential new clients.

Role description/Key Performance — Includes but not limited to :

• Interpret requests and deliver daily on production standards
• Analise member and claims data
• Use Excel and the wider Microsoft 365 environment effectively to support accurate and efficient delivery
• Use AI tools responsibly to research, summarise information and automate appropriate repetitive tasks
• Process new business quotations/tenders within the agreed service level agreement - validate inputs and work confidently with pricing tools
• Identify inefficient processes and drive practical improvements through to implementation
• Support team members through process changes and assist with embedding new ways of work
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Respond to and resolve queries from stakeholders and clients
• Attend to requests on time, respond to queries timeously, present accurate and complete information for decision making, be flexible where needed, deliver within agreed standards

Qualifications Required and experience

• Matric with mathematics
• Insurance industry experience would be advantageous
• In-depth knowledge/experience working within and pricing in a Group Risk environment would be advantageous
• A business or commercial qualification, such as business analytics, information systems, commerce or finance, would be advantageous.
• Proven numerical ability / mathematical reasoning skills
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Office programmes - advanced practical capability in Excel and confidence across Microsoft 365
• Strong digital confidence, systems aptitude and comfort working with data
• Clear, logical thinking with the ability to check inputs and improve controls
• Practical understanding of how AI tools can support research, summarisation and task automation

The successful candidate will demonstrate confidence in digital processing and working with numbers, data and systems. The candidate will apply clear logical thinking to improve workflow and supporting processes.
