Job summary

Old Mutual is seeking a capable analyst for Group Assurance in Cape Town to manage new business tenders and analyse member data. You will leverage Excel and MS 365, apply AI tools for research and automation, and ensure timely, accurate responses to stakeholders.

The role emphasizes delivering high-quality service, improving processes, and maintaining strong internal and external relationships within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Matric with mathematics.
• Insurance industry experience would be advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge/experience pricing in a Group Risk environment would be advantageous.
• A business/commercial qualification such as business analytics, information systems, commerce or finance would be advantageous.
• Proven numerical ability / mathematical reasoning skills.
• Computer literate and proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel and MS365.
• Strong digital confidence, systems aptitude and data handling.
• Clear, logical thinking with input checks and improved controls.
• Practical understanding of how AI tools support research, summarisation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Interpret requests and deliver daily on production standards.
• Analyse member and claims data; use Excel and Microsoft 365 to support delivery.
• Use AI tools to research, summarise information and automate repetitive tasks.
• Process new business quotations/tenders within SLA; validate inputs and use pricing tools.
• Identify inefficient processes and drive improvements through to implementation.
• Support team through process changes and embed new ways of work.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Respond to and resolve queries from stakeholders and clients.
• Attend to requests on time; present accurate information for decision making.
• Demonstrate passion for service excellence and bias for action.

Job Description

Old Mutual Group Assurance is a leading provider of group risk products in South Africa. You will be responsible for new business tenders on our extensive group risk product range to potential new clients

Role description/Key Performance - Includes but not limited to :

• Interpret requests and deliver daily on production standards
• Analise member and claims data Use Excel and the wider Microsoft 365 environment effectively to support accurate and efficient delivery
• Use AI tools responsibly to research, summarise information and automate appropriate repetitive tasks

Qualifications Required and experience

• Matric with mathematics
