Job summary

Sanlam is seeking an actuarial consultant to join the ACTVAL BI team. This role involves developing and enhancing the ACTVAL solution, aimed at optimizing actuarial and financial processes while integrating BI analytics into traditional methods.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in relevant fields and strong skills in Excel and SQL. Engaging with various stakeholders to drive the integration of the ACTVAL solution is also key to this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years work experience within the finance, actuarial, business analysis or data modelling fields.
• Educational background in data science, mathematical statistics, actuarial science or finance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve ACTVAL solution for actuarial and financial processes.
• Collaborate with teams to define and improve the data model for reporting.
• Conduct unit, functional and regression testing of technical changes.

Skills

Advanced Excel/VBA skills

SQL database programming

Data governance (EBX)

Good knowledge of Life insurance products

Experience in finance, actuarial, business analysis or data modelling

Education

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in data science, mathematical statistics, actuarial science or finance
