Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage the revenue cycle in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on timely invoicing, collections, and maintaining positive client relationships within a supportive finance team.

You will generate invoices, monitor balances, follow up on overdue payments, post payments, and prepare aging reports. Strong Excel and accounting software experience are required; credit analysis is a plus. On-site or remote flexibility offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in accounts receivable or a related billing role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable principles and collection techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate and send invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor customer accounts for outstanding balances and overdue payments.
• Contact customers to follow up on overdue payments via phone, email, and other methods.
• Process incoming payments and post them to the correct customer accounts.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with customer accounts or invoices.
• Prepare aging reports and other AR summaries for management review.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date customer account files.
• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues.
