Job summary

Scatec in Cape Town, South Africa, seeks an Accountant for O&M and EPC OpCos to deliver accurate accounting, reporting and payments. You will work under the Senior Accountant to prepare financial information, maintain controls and support audits across multiple entities and projects.

The role requires a Accounting/Finance degree, 3–5 years’ experience, IFRS knowledge, strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 or Power BI.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years’ relevant financial accounting, reporting or audit experience.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, month-end accounting, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Experience with payments, cash flow forecasting, audit documentation and tax support.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP and Group reporting systems (Dynamics 365, Cognos, Power BI or Caseware).
• Clear communication in English, ability to meet deadlines and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end accounting and post journals with accurate trial balances.
• Prepare bank, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset registers.
• Prepare management accounts, Group packs and cash flow information with variance explanations.
• Account for O&M revenue and costs, review EPC schedules and process journals.
• Validate transactions with operational teams; monitor cost recoveries and margins.
• Coordinate payment runs and prepare short-term cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare tax workings and statutory schedules; support audits and improve controls.
