Job summary

Lexdan Select is assisting a company in the agri/manufacturing sector with a Debtors Accountant based in Klapmuts, Cape Winelands. Salary between R25 000 - R33 000 pm.

The role requires strong AR experience in a manufacturing or international trading environment. Responsibilities include issuing invoices, processing payments, maintaining the cashbook, handling credit applications, preparing aging reports, and supporting month-end close and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Finance, Sales Ledger, Debtors or AR roles.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems including Sage 200, Acumatica, SAP B1, Pastel Evolution or Xero.
• Advanced Excel reporting and financial modelling.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Experience in import/export, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing or international trading.

Responsibilities

• Issue invoices and credit notes to customers accurately and timely.
• Process cashbook entries and keep cashbook up to date.
• Process and allocate incoming customer payments daily.
• Monitor overdue accounts and chase payments via email/phone.
• Prepare aging reports, cash flow forecasts and statements.

Lexdan Select is assisting a company in the agri/manufacturing sector with their search for a Debtors Accountant based in Klapmuts, Cape Winelands.

Salary between R25 000 - R33 000 pm

Duties and responsibilities:

• Issue accurate and timely sales invoices and credit notes to customers.
• Process daily cashbook entries and ensure the cashbook remains fully up to date.
• Process and allocate incoming customer payments against correct invoices daily.
• Monitor customer accounts for overdue balances and chase payments via email and telephone.
• Prepare payment refund runs for approval by management. This includes local and overseas customers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of the sales ledger control account.
• Management the full credit application process. Add new customers to the accounting system.
• Investigate and resolve customer billing disputes and internal queries quickly.
• Prepare weekly and monthly aging reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare monthly customer statements and distribute via email.
• Identify opportunities for systems and process improvement within the accounts receivable function.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing and audit requests relating to trade receivables.

Requirements and Skills

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Finance, Sales Ledger Accountant, Debtors Controller, or Accounts Receivable Accountant.
• Experience using Sage 200, Acumatica, SAP Business One, Pastel Evolution, Xero, or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, analysis, and financial modelling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working within an import/export, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or international trading environment.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with UK-based colleagues.
