Job summary

CareerCare-SA in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, invites applications for an Accountant with a client-focused approach to deliver accurate financial reporting for a diverse client portfolio.

You will prepare monthly and annual statements, handle VAT, EMP201/EMP501 and income tax filings, reconcile ledgers, and maintain data integrity using accounting software. The role requires SARS compliance and meeting deadlines while supporting senior accountants.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12).
• 3+ years’ accounting experience, preferably within an accounting practice.
• Undergraduate Accounting degree or currently studying towards a relevant Accounting qualification.
• Proven experience completing and submitting VAT, EMP and Income Tax returns as well as compiling annual financial statements.
• Good understanding of South African tax legislation and SARS requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and accounting software.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills as the majority of clients are Afrikaans-speaking.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Our client is a well-established professional accounting practice providing accounting, taxation and financial advisory services to a diverse portfolio of businesses and individuals.
