Job summary

Smith Garb & Associates is seeking a proactive finance professional to manage the full accounting function in line with IFRS. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and ensuring accurate reporting across intercompany transactions.

You will oversee invoicing, reconciliations, and statutory returns such as VAT and PAYE, while supporting year-end audits and strengthening internal controls. Strong Excel skills and SAIPA exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• BCom Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Completed SAIPA articles.
• 25 years commercial experience.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS.
• Proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Manage invoicing and perform reconciliations
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable
• Cash flow reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns
• Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
• Ensure effective internal controls and risk management procedures
• Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure accurate reporting
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management
• Assist with costings for proposals
• Provide general office administration support
• Maintain neat and accurate electronic filing systems
