Job summary

BDO Wave in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) is seeking an ACCA Assistant Manager to oversee ACCA trainees and ensure audit work meets firm standards. You will review working papers, provide coaching, and manage day-to-day operations of the division.

Key responsibilities include supervising trainees, guiding technical audit matters, and coordinating with UK managers. This is a full-time in-office role based in Gqeberha, reporting to the division manager and supporting trainee development.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) qualified or eligible to register with SAICA
• Experience with accounting and auditing standards
• Ability to handle stress and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Able to operate as part of a team
• Sound supervisory experience
• Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions
• Ability to plan and organize others' work
• Strong project management skills
• Detail-oriented with good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Provide regular updates to division management
• Oversee and review work by ACCA trainees for quality and compliance
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to trainees
• Guide on technical audit and accounting matters
• Develop training interventions to improve audit quality
• Monitor trainee progress and productivity
• Provide constructive feedback to trainees
• Track trainee training requirements and timelines
• Participate in recruitment activities and campus visits
