BDO Wave in Gqeberha is inviting applications for the ACCA Trainee Accountant 2027 intake. The 3-year training contract will provide hands-on experience in the audit division and support to write ACCA strategic level exams.

First-year trainees start January 2027, with exposure to planning through to completion, risk assessments, and reporting. The program emphasises broad commercial exposure, teamwork, and developing professional judgement.

Qualifications

• ACCA-accredited degree with auditing as a major subject.
• Willingness to learn and meet deadlines.
• Excellent English; strong stakeholder communication.
• Ability to work in diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in audits from planning through to completion and gain exposure to the full audit cycle.
• Support planning by preparing audit planning documents and risk assessments.
• Perform audit procedures across financial statement areas such as payroll, cash and bank, revenue, cost of sales, expenses, PPE.
• Evaluate evidence to assess material misstatements and document findings clearly.
• Escalate issues to senior team members and assist in resolving queries.
• Contribute to completion procedures and drafting audit reports.
• Develop professional judgement by linking audit findings to business risks.
